Campbell Scientific Weather Stations

Professional Grade Weather Stations

Campbell Scientific Weather StationCampbell Scientific weather stations are recognized world-wide as a standard for meteorological monitoring. In use on every continent and virtually every country, these weather stations are known for their precision measurement capability, rugged construction, wide operating temperature range and low power consumption. Stations can be custom configured or bought as a package.

Campbell Scientific weather stations offer the flexibility to easily change sensor configurations, data processing, and data storage and retrieval options.

The diagram to the right depicts a weather station mounted on a 10 foot aluminum tower. Other mounting options include a 20 foot or 30 foot tower, and shorter tripods. The sensors shown on this station are the basic sensor suite for meteorological stations, including wind speed and direction, solar radiation, air temperature and relative humidity, precipitation, and barometric pressure (in enclosure).

CSI CR800/CR850 dataloggerDue to the low power requirements of the Campbell Scientific datalogger and basic sensors, a 10 watt solar panel and a 7 Ah 12 volt DC battery are usually sufficient for powering these weather stations for long-term deployment.

Common Weather Sensors:

  • Wind Speed & Direction
  • Air Temperature
  • Relative Humidity
  • Solar Radiation (and hours of sunlight)
  • Precipitation (rain or snow)
  • Barometric Pressure
  • Soil Moisture
  • Soil Temperature
  • Leaf Wetness
  • Net Solar Radiation
  • Air Quality
